Technical Document Specialist
You are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for technical document management and project support. You are looking for an opportunity to work closely with a team of talented professionals in an innovative and collaborative environment.
TriStarr’s client, a Lancaster County industrial equipment supplier, is seeking a full-time or part-time (20+ hrs./wk.) Technical Document Specialist to join their team and play a crucial role in technical document management and general project support for the engineering department.
TECHNICAL DOCUMENT SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will check incoming drawings/documents/paperwork and distribute internally.
- You will file documents electronically in the correct server filing locations, securing important and/or confidential documents accordingly.
- You will create and maintain a document management system to track and modify document numbers, revisions, transmittal dates, received dates, and approval status.
- You will prepare document transmittal packages, organize and file return comments from customers and suppliers.
- You will review/control project documentation according to customer specs and internal requirements, interfacing w/ customer document management systems if necessary.
- You will create and modify technical forms in support of project engineering department.
- You will create, modify, and mark-up .pdf files.
- You will create final document packages and IOM manuals for end-users.
- You will provide admin support on assigned customer projects.
- You will create part numbers in SAP and assist in Bill of Material (BOM) structuring.
- You will interface with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Designers and effectively communicate and understand project deliverables.
- You will perform other duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL DOCUMENT SPECIALIST EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Your Associates degree in a technical discipline is a plus.
- You have 2-3 years of experience with technical document management and filing systems and your past experience at an Engineering office is a plus.
- You have strong knowledge of MS Office including document linking and embedding (OLE) with emphasis on use of Excel and Word.
- Your working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks) and/or CAD viewers (Autodesk TrueView, eDrawings) is a plus.
- Your familiarity with ERP systems is a plus, SAP experience is preferred.
- You are familiar w/ drawings, BOM structure & can learn mechanical equipment function basics.
- You are well organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Temp to Perm
START DATE: asap, pending interviews
PAY RANGE: $20-$24/hr.
HOURS: Full-time (7:30-4 or 8-4:30), Part-time (20+ hrs./wk.)
DRESS CODE: Business casual
