Senior Procurement Specialist
TriStarr’s client, a restaurant wholesaler, is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their team. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the procurement activities. You will lead initiatives that drive cost efficiency, innovation, and quality while ensuring alignment with company objectives and market trends. Your expertise in vendor management, cross-functional collaboration, and team leadership will contribute to the success of our procurement operations.

Strategic Planning:
– Craft and execute long-term purchasing strategies that align with company objectives, market trends, and industry best practices.
– Forecast market trends and leverage insights to make informed decisions that optimize procurement processes and achieve cost efficiency and quality goals.

New Product Development:
– Collaborate with product development, marketing, and other stakeholders to shape and implement a cohesive new product development strategy.
– Identify opportunities for innovative products that align with organizational goals and customer needs while meeting quality, cost, and sustainability objectives.

Vendor Management:
– Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms that ensure favorable outcomes for the organization.
– Foster and maintain strong supplier relationships, managing their performance to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Budget Management:
– Lead the budgeting process for purchasing, oversee cost control measures, analyze expenditures, and identify opportunities for financial improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
– Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other internal departments to align purchasing activities with organizational strategies and customer requirements.

Compliance & Risk Management:
– Ensure procurement practices adhere to legal regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
– Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions or regulatory changes, through proactive strategies.

Team Leadership & Development:
– Lead and mentor the purchasing team, setting clear expectations, providing ongoing feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Quality Control:
– Implement robust quality control measures to uphold products and services to organizational and regulatory standards.
– Conduct regular assessments and take corrective actions to maintain and enhance quality.

Performance Analysis:
– Regularly assess purchasing performance using metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and making informed decisions to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and supplier relationships.

Sustainability Focus:
– Integrate sustainability considerations into purchasing practices by selecting environmentally responsible suppliers, promoting eco-friendly products, and aligning procurement with the company’s sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
– 5+ years of proven experience in procurement, with a track record of strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration.
– Strong understanding of vendor management, negotiation, and supply chain optimization.
– Exceptional leadership and team development skills, with a proven ability to mentor and guide a diverse procurement team.
– Analytical mindset with the ability to drive data-driven decisions and implement performance improvements.
– Knowledge of compliance regulations, risk management, and sustainability considerations in procurement.
– Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Permanent

PAY RATE: $90,000 – 106,000. (based on experience)
