Our client, a well-established architectural firm in Lancaster, PA, is looking for a Business Manager to lead financial operations, enhance efficiency, and contribute to long-term strategic growth. If you have a passion for numbers, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for process improvement—this is the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight & Accounting

  • Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow analysis
  • Oversee the General Ledger, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet with reconciliations and journal entries
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, preparing financial statements in collaboration with external CPA firms
  • Handle sales tax filing and cash flow projections, ensuring financial stability

Budgeting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly project invoices, supporting firmwide budgeting and forecasting
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to leadership
  • Improve collections processes through review and follow-up

HR & Employee Management

  • Oversee onboarding of new employees and manage employee records with confidentiality
  • Support annual performance reviews and administer employee benefits programs (healthcare, retirement, stock plans)
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations
  • Oversee time records, PTO tracking, and company-wide census reporting

Process & Compliance Improvement

  • Enhance internal financial and project controls for accuracy and efficiency
  • Utilize Deltek software to improve financial systems and reporting
  • Maintain company insurance policies and assist with annual insurance audits
  • Manage consultant payments and Certificates of Insurance

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in business management, insurance, and HR
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel skills preferred)
  • Knowledge of Ajera software is a big plus!
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity, urgency, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years in a Controller or financial leadership role

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Permanent
START DATE: ASAP (pending interviews)
PAY RATE: $75K+, based on experience
HOURS: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
