Our client, a well-established architectural firm in Lancaster, PA, is looking for a Business Manager to lead financial operations, enhance efficiency, and contribute to long-term strategic growth. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Accounting
- Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow analysis
- Oversee the General Ledger, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet with reconciliations and journal entries
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, preparing financial statements in collaboration with external CPA firms
- Handle sales tax filing and cash flow projections, ensuring financial stability
Budgeting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly project invoices, supporting firmwide budgeting and forecasting
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to leadership
- Improve collections processes through review and follow-up
HR & Employee Management
- Oversee onboarding of new employees and manage employee records with confidentiality
- Support annual performance reviews and administer employee benefits programs (healthcare, retirement, stock plans)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations
- Oversee time records, PTO tracking, and company-wide census reporting
Process & Compliance Improvement
- Enhance internal financial and project controls for accuracy and efficiency
- Utilize Deltek software to improve financial systems and reporting
- Maintain company insurance policies and assist with annual insurance audits
- Manage consultant payments and Certificates of Insurance
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong financial acumen with experience in business management, insurance, and HR
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Knowledge of Ajera software is a big plus!
- Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity, urgency, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years in a Controller or financial leadership role
LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Permanent
START DATE: ASAP (pending interviews)
PAY RATE: $75K+, based on experience
HOURS: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
