TriStarr’s client is seeking a Project Expediter to join their internal team on a full time, direct hire basis. A background in fabrication – related environments is a strong plus.
They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Expediter to support their fabrication projects by ensuring timely tracking of materials, coordinating deliveries, and managing shipping and receiving processes. This role plays a critical part in keeping production on schedule by facilitating communication between suppliers, project managers, and shop teams. A background in purchasing or fabrication-related environments is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:

Track and follow up on material deliveries to ensure they meet project timelines

Process purchase orders and maintain accurate documentation

Coordinate shipping and receiving with vendors and internal teams

Monitor approval dates, lead times, and delivery schedules for key project components

Support logistics operations, including freight tracking and carrier coordination

Perform accurate and timely data entry related to materials, orders, and shipping

Assist with inventory control by monitoring material levels and coordinating with the shop to ensure stock availability

Work closely with the Project Manager to support day-to-day project needs and schedules

Communicate status updates and delays to internal teams and help resolve issues proactively

Assist with purchasing tasks as needed, including vendor communication and quote tracking

Maintain organized records and documentation for all incoming and outgoing materials
Requirements:

1–3 years of experience in a project coordination, logistics, expediting, or purchasing role, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting

Familiarity with fabrication processes and materials is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with structural steel, custom metalwork, or fabrication components

Working knowledge of supply chain and inventory principles

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field
