TriStarr’s client, a well‑established, family‑owned financial group based in Lancaster, PA, is seeking temporary Tax Preparers for the January–April 2026 tax season.

About the role:
Join a professional tax team for the busy season. Our client is hiring multiple levels — from entry‑level W‑2/1040 preparers to experienced professionals who can handle complex business returns. This is an onsite position and requires availability during the January–April tax season.

What you’ll do:

• Entry‑Level to Intermediate Preparers (W‑2 / 1040)
• Prepare individual federal and state returns (Form 1040) using W‑2s and standard documentation.
• Review documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Apply common credits (EITC, Child Tax Credit, education credits, etc.).
• Communicate with taxpayers to obtain missing information and explain return items.

• Experienced Preparers (Advanced Returns)
• Prepare Schedule C, Schedule E and entity returns (1120, 1120‑S, 1065).
• Identify tax‑planning opportunities and resolve tax issues.
• Collaborate with senior advisors on complex cases.
• Mentor junior preparers and support quality control.

  What we’re looking for
  Minimum Requirements (All Candidates)

  • 1+ year of individual tax preparation experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear, professional communication skills.
  • High school diploma required; accounting or tax coursework preferred.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and tax preparation software.
  • Availability for the January–April tax season.

  Additional Requirements for Experienced Candidates

  • 2–3+ years of professional tax preparation experience (or more).
  • Proven experience preparing advanced returns (Schedule C/E, business returns).
  • EA or CPA preferred but not required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex tax issues and propose client solutions.
