This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controller to provide strategic oversight and operational leadership of a small college’s accounting functions. What You’ll Do
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable and general ledger functions.
- Manage financial reporting, including consolidations, trend analysis, and compliance with GAAP.
- Coordinate audits and strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Maintain and improve financial systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications / What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within not-for-profit or higher education.
- Strong background in GAAP financial statements, investment, and debt accounting.
- ERP experience, with Great Plains familiarity a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills; highly organized and adaptable.
