High Foundation is pleased to announce a leadership opportunity for an experienced and dedicated professional to serve as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. This key role is designed to spearhead transformative projects in environmental sustainability and affordable housing, measure impact through evaluation and learning, and help shape the future of communities in Lancaster and beyond.
As Vice President, you will be a pivotal leader responsible for expanding the Foundation’s influence and effectiveness in tackling complex community challenges. You will oversee the High Impact Portfolio, guiding strategic efforts that support community development and transformation. Your leadership will also extend to serving as the Executive Director of Lancaster Housing Works, where you will support and develop affordable workforce housing solutions, fostering greater economic stability and inclusion.
This role demands a sophisticated thinker with proven experience in nonprofit leadership and project management, particularly within the environmental and housing sectors. You will be a skilled relationship-builder, capable of engaging with community leaders and stakeholders to advance the Foundation’s mission. Your strategic oversight and ability to secure funding will be essential to ensure the success and sustainability of key initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the High Impact Portfolio, driving innovative strategies to address pressing community issues
- Position High Foundation as a thought leader, innovator, and problem-solver
- Cultivate partnerships across sectors to support Foundation strategy and programs
- Oversee Lancaster Housing Works, promoting affordable workforce housing solutions for middle-income families
- Lead fundraising strategies for Lancaster Housing Works, including researching funding opportunities and cultivating donor relations
- Evaluate and measure progress across all portfolios, ensuring the initiatives deliver measurable, impactful results
- Collaborate closely with the Foundation’s Board and leadership team to align strategies and goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in related fields
- 8–10 years of strategic leadership, project management, and nonprofit experience
- Proven success in fostering community relationships and securing funding
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; consensus builder
- Experience working with community and legislative leaders and stakeholders, particularly in Lancaster/south-central PA region
