This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controller to provide strategic oversight and operational leadership of a small college’s accounting functions. What You’ll Do

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable and general ledger functions.
• Manage financial reporting, including consolidations, trend analysis, and compliance with GAAP.
• Coordinate audits and strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• Maintain and improve financial systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications / What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within not-for-profit or higher education.
• Strong background in GAAP financial statements, investment, and debt accounting.
• ERP experience, with Great Plains familiarity a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills; highly organized and adaptable.

• Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Pay / Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 annually
• Hours / Schedule: Full-time
• Location: On-site with a welcoming campus environment
