Township Administrative Assistant

What You’ll Do

  • Provide administrative support to the Community Development Department and related township boards and committees
  • Assist residents and applicants with permit and planning submissions
  • Manage communications, including phone inquiries, emails, and visitor assistance
  • Track, organize, and maintain paper and electronic records of permits, plans, and project files
  • Prepare meeting materials, including agendas, minutes, and reports
  • Coordinate fee collection and ensure timely processing of permits and approvals
  • Support special projects and help facilitate community development initiatives

Qualifications / What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 2 years of clerical or administrative experience, or 1 year with building code and zoning knowledge
  • Proficient in MS Office, well-organized, and attentive to detail
  • Clear communicator, reliable, and professional in appearance (business casual)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and discretion

Job Details

  • Job Type: Temp for 2-3 months (may be a great foot in the door!)
  • Pay Range: $20–$24/hr depending on experience
