The Central Market Trust is seeking a dynamic local Executive Director to lead the ongoing success of Lancaster Central Market. This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to shape the future of a beloved institution that lies at the heart of our city’s culture and economy.

About the Role
As Executive Director, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership in alignment with our mission and vision
- Champion the Market’s identity as a safe, vibrant, and fresh-food destination
- Oversee daily operations, finances, and staff
- Lead development efforts including fundraising, grant writing, and business partnerships
- Support Market stand holders and promote local entrepreneurship
- Collaborate with the Central Market Trust Board, City of Lancaster, and other key stakeholders
You’ll be directly responsible for ensuring the long-term vitality of Central Market, both as a historical treasure and a modern retail and community hub.
Your Impact Will Include:
- Stewarding relationships with donors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners
- Guiding and empowering a dedicated team (Assistant Director, Market Manager, SNAP Coordinator)
- Shaping and executing strategy, budget planning, and capital improvement projects
- Serving as the face and voice of the Market in the Lancaster community and beyond
- Thrive in dynamic, people-centered environments
- Know how to navigate competing priorities with grace and clarity
- Believe in the power of historic spaces to foster modern community
