TriStarr’s client is seeking a Project Expediter to join their internal team on a full time, direct hire basis.  A background in fabrication – related environments is a strong plus. 

They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Expediter to support their fabrication projects by ensuring timely tracking of materials, coordinating deliveries, and managing shipping and receiving processes. This role plays a critical part in keeping production on schedule by facilitating communication between suppliers, project managers, and shop teams. A background in purchasing or fabrication-related environments is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Track and follow up on material deliveries to ensure they meet project timelines

• Process purchase orders and maintain accurate documentation

• Coordinate shipping and receiving with vendors and internal teams

• Monitor approval dates, lead times, and delivery schedules for key project components

• Support logistics operations, including freight tracking and carrier coordination

• Perform accurate and timely data entry related to materials, orders, and shipping

• Assist with inventory control by monitoring material levels and coordinating with the shop to ensure stock availability

• Work closely with the Project Manager to support day-to-day project needs and schedules

• Communicate status updates and delays to internal teams and help resolve issues proactively

• Assist with purchasing tasks as needed, including vendor communication and quote tracking

• Maintain organized records and documentation for all incoming and outgoing materials

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in a project coordination, logistics, expediting, or purchasing role, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting

• Familiarity with fabrication processes and materials is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with structural steel, custom metalwork, or fabrication components

• Working knowledge of supply chain and inventory principles

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field
