Position: Temporary Classroom Aide

TriStarr’s client is looking for a temporary Classroom Aide to support adult learners enrolled in GED and post-secondary education programs. This role plays a vital part in fostering a supportive, engaging, and productive learning environment by assisting the lead Education Instructor and directly supporting students in academic and skill-building efforts.

Position Overview:

The temporary Classroom Aide provides academic and administrative support to both the Education Instructor and the students enrolled in adult education programs. These programs include GED preparation, post-secondary coursework, literacy improvement, workforce readiness, and other skill-building classes.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional & Program Support

• Assist with lesson delivery, tutoring, and GED instruction.

• Provide academic support to post-secondary students fulfilling course requirements.

• Help arrange workshops and programs in coordination with community partners.

Student Support

• Encourage participation and persistence among learners.

• Support students in building confidence and staying engaged.

• Assist with the use of classroom technology and online learning platforms.

Classroom & Administrative Support

• Take attendance and help with recordkeeping.

• Prepare the classroom environment, including setup of materials and technology.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning space.

Collaboration & Professionalism

• Partner closely with the Education Instructor to meet student goals.

• Share student updates with relevant staff (e.g., Family Advocate, organizational management).

• Maintain confidentiality and treat all learners with dignity.

• Attend staff meetings or training sessions as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework or degree (preferred).

• Experience in education, tutoring, or community programs (highly preferred).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to support adult learners from diverse backgrounds with patience and flexibility.

• Basic computer skills and comfort using educational technology.

Location: Lancaster, PA
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-4pm
Duration: Temporary- 8 weeks (possibly more) 
Pay Rate: $20-25
