TriStarr’s client is looking for a Trader / Back-Office Associate to support portfolio management, trade execution, and post-trade operations in a fast-paced investment environment. This role combines front-office trading responsibilities with critical back-office coordination to help ensure trades are executed efficiently, processed accurately, and settled on time. The ideal candidate will bring direct trading experience, strong operational accuracy, and the ability to work closely with portfolio managers, brokers, compliance, operations, and custodians.
Required Skills
- At least 1–2 years of trade execution experience in equities and ETFs within a professional investment setting
- Strong understanding of best execution, liquidity, market impact, transaction costs, and trade timing
- Ability to create, manage, and execute orders in an order management system
- Experience with trade allocations and electronic trade processing
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills related to trade discrepancies, settlement issues, and failing trades
- Ability to monitor market activity, order flow, and portfolio exposures during trading sessions
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with Portfolio Account System (PAS)
- Familiarity with Bloomberg
- Experience using Schwab, Fidelity, Omgeo CTM, Tradesuite, Alert, and broker algorithmic trading platforms
- Experience handling corporate actions, dividends, stock splits, and ticker changes
- Experience working directly with brokers and custodians to resolve trade-related issues
- Background evaluating broker performance and maintaining broker relationships
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred
- 1–2+ years of relevant trading experience strongly preferred
- Experience in buy-side trading, investment operations, trade support, or portfolio administration preferred
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment with strong compliance and ethical standards preferred

Position Details
- Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Pay Rate: Competitive Pay Rate
- Job Type: Direct Hire
- Location: Lancaster, PA
- Dress Code: Casual; nice denim and nice sneakers are allowed, with occasional business casual attire required with prior notice
